Alice Paul, a Jersey-born activist and suffragist, was essential for women to have the right to vote. To celebrate her life's work, Laurel hosts the Women's Equality Day Festival in her old house, which has been converted into an institute. The festival offers a variety of activities for all ages, such as live music, street vendors, a petting zoo and children's activities. There is also a “speakeasy” with tickets available.

Bookstores are planning special readings and discounts, while Harriet's Bookshop will reopen its doors on Saturday. The winners of the regional qualifiers in New York, Minneapolis and Orlando will go head-to-head in the final, which will determine who will go to the world final in Paris. Raekwon will perform at the event, part of a two-day camp that includes workshops, panels and exhibition battles. You can also watch it live on Red Bull TV. Comedian Affion Crockett has had a long career in television and film. He has appeared in “Def Comedy Jam” and “Wild N'Out” while his filmography spans two decades. Crockett will bring his comedy skills to Punchline Philly for four shows Friday and Saturday night.

Their reign of hits at Philadelphia International Records is second to none as they produced classics such as “Backstabbers”, “I Love Music”, “For the Love of Money”, “Love Train” and our personal favorite “Livin' for the Weekend”. The band comes to Dell on Thursday with Dave Hollister and Carol Riddick herself from Philadelphia.
